Mechanical Watch: a watch adjusted by a mechanical oscillator.

1. Mechanical watches

Its working principle is to use a vibration system with constant period and continuous vibration. The period of vibration multiplied by the number of vibrations is equal to the elapsed time. It is generally composed of several parts such as energy, gear train, escapement, vibration system, pointer mechanism and additional mechanism. The power spring provides energy when the mechanical clock is working. Through the speed increase of the gear train, one winding can run for one or several days continuously. Mechanical watches can be divided into two types: manual mechanical watches and automatic mechanical watches:

Manual mechanical watch: It adopts a hand-winding movement to wind the mainspring of the movement manually. After the mainspring is released, the gears are driven to run and the hands move the time.
Automatic mechanical watch: adopts self-winding movement. The power is driven by the weight of the pendulum in the movement. The swing of the arm when the watch is worn can drive the pendulum to rotate, which in turn drives the mainspring in the watch to wind the watch and push the hands. Travel time.
2. Quartz watches

Its working principle is to use a quartz crystal as an oscillator, through electronic frequency division to control the rotation of the motor to drive the pointer, and the timing accuracy is very high.

Quartz watches can be divided into digital quartz watches, analog quartz watches, automatic quartz watches, and light energy quartz watches.

1. Digital quartz watch: a watch that combines the piezoelectric effect of quartz crystal and a bipolar liquid crystal display, and its function is completely realized by electronic components.

2. Analog quartz watch: The operating energy of the watch comes from a silver oxide button battery. The battery provides a specific voltage to the integrated circuit. The oscillator circuit and the quartz resonator are used to vibrate the quartz oscillator to form an oscillation circuit source. The electrical signal output from the oscillating circuit enters the frequency divider circuit and then divides the frequency to generate a pulse signal, and then enters the drive circuit to amplify to form an alternating bidirectional pulse signal, thereby driving the stepping motor to rotate intermittently, and further driving the transmission wheel System to make the hands rotate and display the time accurately.

3. Automatic quartz watch: It combines the advantages of automatic mechanical watch and quartz watch. Its electronic quartz device makes it more accurate, with an error of less than ten seconds per month. It does not require a battery to provide energy, and you can choose to wind it manually or automatically charge it. Its operating principle is to use the swing of the arm to drive the pendulum in the watch to generate energy to drive the internal micro-motor to convert it into electrical energy, thereby providing power to the quartz device in the watch, and the excess electrical energy is stored by the micro-capacitor. When the watch is fully charged, it can be used continuously for about ten days, and there is no need to wear the watch on the wrist.

4. Light energy quartz watches: convert light energy into electrical energy through solar wafers, and store the electrical energy in a recyclable titanium lithium ion rechargeable battery, and then the electrical energy of the battery generates a pulse signal through the integrated circuit to the coil to generate magnetic force to drive The stepping motor drives the gear to rotate and drives the pointer to indicate the time. It can run for one month to half a year after being fully charged, and the travel time is accurate.
